Description
Choice 1828 Large Narrow Date Coronet Cent
1828 1C Large Narrow Date MS64 Brown NGC. N-11, R.2. This is an interesting colored example with traces of orange-red luster that are infringed upon by mottled glossy-brown and steel-gray patina. The impression is well centered and bold, if not sharp, and a few well concealed toning spots near the upper reverse border are the only mentionable blemishes. Although at least 14 MS60 and MS60+ representatives are known to Robinson, there is only one coin finer (MS65) on the EAC-based Condition Census for N-11.From the Peter Martinez Collection.
