1829 N-4 Cent, Choice AU
Noyes Plate Coin
Large Letters Reverse
1829 1C Large Letters AU55 NGC. N-4, R.4. Our EAC Grade
XF40. The present lot is the fourth finest known, and the plate
coin for the 1829 N-4 variety in the 1991 Bill Noyes reference of
the middle date large cents. The late die state with a crack
through the R in AMERICA and a soft strike usual for the variety.
This minimally abraded cent has satin luster and chocolate-brown
fields. The high points are medium brown.Ex: Wayne Imbrogno; Doug Bird (8/1987); Jack Robinson (Superior, 1/1989), lot 888; J.R. Frankenfield (Superior, 2/2001), lot 914; Dr. Wallace Lee (Superior, 5/2003), lot 743; Chris McCawley; Annapolis EAC (4/2010).
