Description

1839 1C Silly Head, N-9, R.2, AU55 PCGS. Ex: Halpern-Boka. The later die state with a rim break over stars 7 and 8 and over star 10. The attractive steel-brown surfaces are pleasing despite a single shallow nick inside star 3. Graded AU55 in Starr and Halpern, and AU50 in the 1990 EAC catalog and in Mendelson. Plated on page 138 of Al Boka's Provenance Gallery of the Year 1794. Our EAC grade AU50.
