Description
Attractive MS63 Brown 1840 Large Date Cent
1840 1C Large Date MS63 Brown PCGS. N-8, R.1. Late Die State. There is extensive rim crumbling on the obverse of this late die state example. Both sides have toned in even olive-brown shades that allow full appreciation of the soft, golden-orange undertones. A small, old abrasion on Liberty's jaw is noted, but the surfaces are otherwise smooth and remarkably distraction-free for the Select grade level. Sharply struck. From the Ohio Collection.
