Description
Nicely Preserved 1843 Petite Head Cent, Small Letters (N-11) Variety
1843 1C Petite Head, Small Letters MS65 Brown NGC. N-11. While not the rarest variety of this issue, the Petite Head, Small Letters is not well represented at the major grading services in the finer Mint State grades. This coin is every bit the Gem. The reddish-brown, glossy textured surfaces reveal a crisp strike over the central features. There are relatively few abrasions, and, while a few toning spots are seen on both sides, none of these features are sizeable or individually distracting. An attractive piece. Population: 6 in 65, three are finer (8/01).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2269, PCGS# 1844, GSID# 1093)
Metal: 100% Copper
