Description
1845 N-5, R.1. Sharpness of MS 62, net MS 62. Tied for seventh finest known of the variety with two others. Superb color and surfaces, the fields boast some original red, subdued by the passage of decades, but undiminished by spots or other significant contact. One tiny mark can be seen on Liberty's jaw, but this coin is simply head and shoulders above most others seen. Middle die state. Another exceptional specimen from the Mac MacDonald Collection that will be certain to grace any collection.
Ex: McCawley-Grellman Auctions (1/97), lot 476.
