Description
1847 1C MS66 Brown NGC. N-26, High R.3. There is a die line (as produced) from the denticles outside star 10--the most readily identifiable diagnostic of this scarce and conditionally challenging variety. Robinson's Condition Census for N-26 is comprised of nine Mint States examples, none of which grade finer than MS64. The present Gem (by third party grading standards) is a mostly glossy-brown coin with traces of mint red luster at the lower obverse border and around much of the reverse periphery. We can find few distractions of any kind, and the central features are razor sharp in striking detail.
From the Peter Martinez Collection.
