Description
1847 MS 64 Red NGC. While 1847 large cents are comparatively available in mint state (Brown, or Red and Brown), full red examples were unknown to either service until this choice example was recently certified. Resembling the much more common 1853 in color and strike, the surfaces are a bright copper color. A tiny alloy spot on the reverse hardly detracts.
