Description

1848 1C VF 30. N-42, R.6. This coin is tied as the seventh finest known survivor of this rare die marriage. A few small abrasions are scattered over both sides, but these are consistent with a copper coin that saw this extensive wear. Even walnut-brown color with solid remaining definition for the Choice VF grade level. A small bruise on the rim outside the 48 in the date is noted for accuracy.
Ex: February 8-10, 1999 Auction (Superior, 2/99), lot 2350. Uncertified.
