Description

1848 1C MS64 Brown NGC. N-35, R.2. Grellman State b. A strong die line extends left from the hair over the coronet point, and another die line bisects the berry to the right of T in CENT. All other identification points are absent in this intermediate die state. Perhaps deserving of a Red and Brown designation. The obverse has about 15% to 20% red with lovely medium brown toning, while the reverse approaches 50% original red. A wonderful example. EAC 63.
