1849 1C MS65 Red and Brown NGC. N-3, R.4. Our EAC Grade MS63. Grellman Die State d. Grellman delineates 22 different die states for this nonetheless scarce variety. The reverse die was apparently improperly annealed and promptly deteriorated during production. This example displays plentiful pockets of mint red that are more extensive on the reverse. The high points and obverse field are medium brown.Ex: Robinson S. Brown, Jr. (Superior, 2002), lot 679.
