Description
1850 1C MS65 Red and Brown NGC. Ex: Jules Reiver Collection. N-13, R.4. Grellman Die State b. his is the usual die state for the variety, with the dash between 1 and 8 still visible, and with die cracks and sinking on the reverse. This is quite likely the finest of the variety, or very nearly so. Lustrous surfaces with blue and violet toning over frosty orange mint color. Perhaps 25% original red on the obverse and 50 to 60% on the reverse.
