Description

1851 N-45 Cent, MS65 Brown
Late Die State

1851 1C MS65 Brown NGC. N-45, High R.4. Our EAC Grade MS60. Grellman Die State b. The elusive late die state with a crack nearly between stars 4 and 8. The obverse is flowlined, as is the reverse margin, as made from dies past their prime. One small dull depression on the cheek, probably a strike-through. Otherwise, the lavender-brown and sea-green surfaces are outstanding. One of two 1851 cents certified as N-45 by NGC. Both are in this auction.
