1851/81 1C MS63 Red and Brown NGC. N-3, R.1. A luminous Select representative of this popular repunched date variety, which has the date punched upside-down first and later corrected. This well-defined example has a striking appearance. While most of the obverse and the entirety of the reverse are cherry-red, the lower left third of the obverse is mint-green, and a dollop of gold graces the date.
