Description
1851/81 1C MS65 Brown NGC. N-3, R.1. Our EAC Grade MS62. Grellman Die State a with heavy mint-made die lines on the lower obverse. A popular Guide Book variety, the date was initially entered inverted, similar to the 1865/681-S Eagle. Ample portions of orange-red color illuminate protected areas, while light brown color dominates the fields and portrait. Only the most trivial contact can be detected beneath a glass. The 81 underdigits are obvious.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2005), lot 5110.
