    1854 N-12 Cent, PR64 Brown
    Full Strike, Early Dies

1854 1C PR64 Brown PCGS. CAC. N-12, Low R.6 as a Proof. Grellman Die State a, "rare." Diagonal die lines appear on the field below the 54 in the date. All 1854 proof cents are N-12, but most N-12 cents are not proofs, since the die pair also struck cents for commerce. Proofs are distinguished by reflective fields and an intricate strike. This proof near-Gem is predominantly deep walnut-brown, though lighter mahogany color emerges here and there. No detractions are apparent across the smooth, glossy surfaces. Our EAC grade PR55.(Registry values: P3)
