The First of Two Exceptional Full Red, Ex: Dawson 1855 Cents
1855 MS 65 Red NGC. Upright 5s. Ex: Dawson. Like the next coin, this is another exceptional Andre Dawson type coin. The coins are somewhat different in appearance with this piece having somewhat deeper color, tending more toward cherry-red than the lighter orange-red on the MS 66 piece. Close inspection reveals the beginnings of a couple of carbon spots, one on the obverse and another vaguely forming over the word OF on the reverse.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 226M, PCGS# 1909, GSID# 1182)
