    Description

    1855 Slanted 55 N-10 Cent, PR64 Red
    Extremely Rare as Full Red

1855 1C Slanted 55 PR64 Red PCGS. N-10, R.5 as a proof. Ex: Teich Family Collection. Grellman Die State a. A point from the left coronet border attributes the Newcomb marriage. Full red proof 1855 large cents are extremely rare. PCGS and NGC have each certified just one such specimen, both as PR64 Red. Long off the market, the present needle-sharp near-Gem will be of considerable importance to the late date specialist. The orange-gold surfaces retain full mint bloom save for moderate mellowing on the obverse periphery. Devoid of contact marks or flan imperfections. A small spot at the obverse center provides an identifier. Our EAC grade PR60.
