1856 Cent, MS64 Brown
N-14, Slanted 5
1856 1C Slanted 5, N-14, R.1, MS64 Brown PCGS. Noyes Die
State C. N-14 features a small die chip on Liberty's lower cheek
and small diagonal polish lines under the earlobe. Die State C
shows weakness on the upper half of the coin, particularly on LIB
and on stars 6 through 8. This Choice Uncirculated example exhibits
lustrous chestnut-brown surfaces with occasional hues of original
mint copper in protected areas. Devices are well-defined and only a
few minor abrasions are typical of the grade. Eye appeal is strong.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 226N, Variety PCGS# 406210, Base PCGS# 1922, Greysheet# 275459)
