Republic Cent Token 1833 AU58 Brown NGC, Belleville mint, KM-Tn1, CH-2. Large Ship, 14 Rays, 12 Leaves variety. The American Colonization Society was active from 1816 till 1964, and aimed to encourage the immigration of freeborn and emancipated people of color to various parts of Africa. Liberia specifically was a site of these resettlement attempts between 1820 and 1843, though the American Colonization Society was just one of a number of state colonization societies that developed settlements in the region.Metal: Copper
