Description

Luminous AU53 1850 Double Eagle

1850 $20 AU53 PCGS. The 1850 double eagle marks the beginning of the denomination as struck by the U.S. Mint for circulation, granting it substantial cachet for a number of collectors. This example circulated only briefly, and though scattered light to moderate marks pepper each side, the yellow-gold fields remain strongly lustrous.(Registry values: N1793)
