Description

1850-O Twenty Dollar, XF

1850-O $20 XF40 NGC. A doubly popular issue, the first year of regular double eagle production and a coin made in the legendary New Orleans Mint. This example shows some muted mint luster clinging to yellow-gold surfaces that show some mostly light contact marks peppered on each side. The O mintmark is punched high in the die, actually touching the lower tip of the eagle's tail.
