1851 Double Eagle, MS61
Ideal Type Coin Candidate
1851 $20 MS61 PCGS. Ex: The Fairmont Collection. Beautiful
white-gold surfaces contain a delicate halo of rose-gold around the
devices. A few nicks southeast of the eye represent the only
visible abrasion, although a scratch hidden in the reverse stars is
mentioned for completeness. The 1851 double eagle sports the
highest mintage of the denomination for the decade, and represents
