Splendid 1851-O Double Eagle, AU53
1851-O $20 AU53 NGC. Eye-catching luster radiates from the yellow-gold surfaces of this early New Orleans double eagle. The strike is sharp save for some softness on the hair above Liberty's head. Scattered abrasions and light hairlines preclude a higher grade, but there are no marks of individual significance.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 268J, PCGS# 8905, GSID# 9844)
