1851-O $20 --Improperly Cleaned--NGC Details. AU. A large mintage of 315,000 double eagles was achieved at the New Orleans Mint in 1851. As a result, the 1851-O is an available date and enjoys great popularity as a type coin. The present example shows slight wear on the central devices, but much original detail remains. The surfaces are lightly abraded, with a pleasing orange-gold patina.(Registry values: N1793)
