1852 $20 MS61 PCGS. CAC. Bullion from the Great California Gold Rush allowed a mintage of two million 1852 double eagles, but the preponderance of survivors are in XF or AU grades. Examples with unbroken cartwheel sheen, such as the present apricot-gold piece, are rare. Marks are surprisingly marginal given the MS61 level.(Registry values: N2998)
