1852-O $20 AU53 NGC. About Uncirculated grades of the 1852-O double eagle are the finest most collectors will likely be able to acquire. NGC/PCGS population figures show just 27 Mint State coins, a number that are likely resubmissions, and all but three of which are MS62 and below. The bright yellow-gold surfaces of the present AU53 specimen exhibit traces of luster in the protected areas, and show generally well defined motifs, save for weakness in portions of Liberty's hair.
