Description
Popular 1853/2 Double Eagle, AU50
1853/2 $20 AU50 PCGS. FS-301. Traditionally considered an overdate, though the Guide Book expresses skepticism about the nature of the feature hidden within the 3. The Cherrypickers' Guide, by contrast, has no such reservations, and similarly collectors should show no reservations about this AU50 example. Yellow-gold surfaces remain remarkably bright, and while light abrasions and a few digs affect each side, the overall eye appeal is solid.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 268M, PCGS# 8909, GSID# 9846)
