1854 $20 Large Date AU58 PCGS. CAC. The size of the date digits provide the obvious attribution of this variety that has an additional obverse die marker in the form of a raised lump on Liberty's neck just left of the lowest hair curl. The Large Date variety is significantly rarer than the Small Date variant, with slightly more than 10% of all PCGS submissions from this die pair. In all grades, the California certification service has examined 885 Small Date coins and just 116 Large Date pieces. This lovely example has scattered grade-consistent marks on lustrous yellow-gold surfaces that exhibit splendid green accents. PCGS Population: 27 in 58 (1 in 58+), 12 finer (12/25). CAC: 14 in 58, 9 finer (12/25).(Registry values: P6)
