1855-S $20 Broken A, Full E, MS61 PCGS. CAC. Variety 14A. Ex. S.S. Central America. SSCA 6267. Medium S. The A in STATES is broken, but the E is complete, hence the "Broken A, Full E" variety identification. A number of 1855-S twenties have been recovered from the antebellum shipwreck, but most fall short of Mint State. The present peach-gold piece displays unbroken luster and shows only minor grazes and marks. Certified in a green label holder. A tan-brown faux Ship of Gold book and a forest-green Blanchard box accompany the lot.
