Scarce 1856 Double Eagle, Mint State Sharpness

1856 $20 --Damaged--ICG. MS60 Details. Bright lemon-yellow patina graces the surfaces of this lustrous and sharply defined specimen. There are a number of abrasions in the fields with what appear to be test marks on Liberty's cheek and between TWENTY and UNITED, which account for the "damaged" moniker. The 1856 is scarce in all grades, but is decidedly rare in Mint State.(Registry values: N4719)
