Description

1856-S No Motto Twenty, MS63
Ex:
S.S. Central America

1856-S $20 MS63 PCGS. Variety-17O. Ex: S.S. Central America. SSCA 5785. No Serif, Left S. More than 1,000 examples of the 1856-S were recovered from the so-called Ship of Gold, greatly enhancing the accessibility of this early San Francisco issue. That is particularly true in Mint State. Doug Winter proposes 400 to 500+ Uncirculated pieces in the marketplace.

This one is awash in vibrant frosty luster typical of the Central America find. Each side presents warm golden-orange color and razor-sharp strike definition. Superficial grazes appear on Liberty's cheek, while the fields are relatively clean. Terrific visual appeal.(Registry values: N4719)
