1856-S $20 MS64 PCGS. CAC. Variety 17-N. Ex: S.S. Central
America, housed in the special gold-foil PCGS holder. No Serif,
High Right S. The Medium S mintmark is close to the tail feathers,
and right of center over the N in TWENTY. This impressive Choice
Mint State 1856-S double eagle is tied for the finest that PCGS has
graded, while NGC has never examined such a fine quality example.
Delicate orange patina is splashed on the brilliant yellow surfaces
of this frosty and highly appealing double eagle. Population: 5 in
