Scarce 1857 Double Eagle, MS61
1857 $20 MS61 NGC. The 1857 double eagle is scarce in Mint State; NGC and PCGS combined have seen only about 70 Uncirculated examples. A well executed strike brings out good definition on this MS61 coin. Its peach-gold surfaces exhibit the most potent luster in the areas around, and in the interstices of, the design elements.
