Central America. SSCA 0756. This sharply detailed and unabraded
Choice AU example displays lovely orange-gold patina and lustrous
surfaces. The fields are semiprooflike when tilted beneath a light.
Eye appeal is outstanding, as is frequently the case for 1857-S
double eagles recovered from the S.S. Central America
shipwreck. Housed in a gold label holder of its original
distribution, the coin is accompanied by a faux Ship of Gold
book as well as the original, forest-green Blanchard box of
