Description

1857-S Double Eagle, MS61
Smooth for the Grade

1857-S $20 MS61 NGC. Most surviving Uncirculated examples of the 1857-S double eagle came out of the S.S. Central America recoveries. This piece is not pedigree to the shipwreck but may have originated there. Smooth, frosty orange-gold luster complements a bold strike, with outstanding eye appeal for the grade.(Registry values: N2998)
