Impressive Gem 1857-S Twenty
1857-S $20 MS65 NGC. Variety 20A, the well known "Spiked Shield" reverse. Not specifically attributed to the S.S. Central America but almost assuredly from that source; the high level of preservation and the distinctive yellow-orange color are both signatures of a shipwreck source for the issue. Boldly impressed with booming mint luster and fantastic eye appeal.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2696, PCGS# 8922, GSID# 9884)
