Scarce 1859-O Twenty Dollar, XF Details
1859-O $20 --Improperly Cleaned--NGC. XF Details. A review of population data confirms the scarcity of the 1859-O double eagle (mintage of 9,100 pieces) in all circulated grades and its extreme rarity in Mint State. The bright yellow-gold surfaces of this XF Details specimen reveal fine hairlines and distributed small contact marks. The design elements exhibit fairly good detail for an issue that is typically poorly struck.(Registry values: N4719)Note for clients in the European Union: This lot is considered by the European Union to be “investment gold”.
