Lustrous Near-Mint 1860 Double Eagle
1860 $20 AU58 NGC. A lightly circulated example of this P-mint issue, one that generally averages only AU or so. There are a few moderate abrasions on each side, with pretty orange-gold patina and splendid mint luster radiating forth. The S.S. Republic recovery yielded quite a few hoard coins, including some spectacular Mint State pieces.(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269D, PCGS# 8929, GSID# 9796)
