Description

1860 Double Eagle, MS61
Challenging Any Finer

1860 $20 MS61 PCGS. CAC. The certified population data show that the 1860 double eagle is available in circulated condition, particularly in Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated, but the numbers drop significantly in mint condition. This MS61 example displays soft luster emanating from tan-gold surfaces that exhibit well-impressed design features. A scattering of small marks and scuffs limit the grade. Population: 23 in 61, 20 finer (6/14).
Ex: ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2007), lot 3294.
