Description

1860 Double Eagle, Appealing MS61
Relatively Unabraded

1860 $20 MS61 PCGS. The antique-gold surfaces of this early P-mint double eagle show a few scattered marks and ticks, but we have seen MS62 examples of this type that were far more abraded. A great deal of essential appeal -- eye and collector -- remains on this coin. Population: 32 in 61, 22 finer (3/16).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269D, PCGS# 8929, Greysheet# 9796)

Weight: 33.44 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
