Splendid 1860-S Double Eagle, Choice AU
1860-S $20 AU55 NGC. Garrett and Guth (2006) call the 1860-S a "workhorse of commerce" and explain that most coins seen have been heavily circulated. About Uncirculated examples can be difficult to locate, and this lustrous piece would make an excellent representative. Delightful yellow-gold patina drapes both sides.
