Appealing Original Patina
1861-S $20 AU50 PCGS. Pleasing original olive-gold surfaces
give this About Uncirculated 1861-S double eagle excellent eye
appeal, while a few scattered small abrasions are not out of line
for the grade. The 1861-S double eagle is significantly scarcer
than the Philadelphia issue of this year, but it is much more
plentiful than the Paquet Reverse issue that was also struck in
