Charming 1861-S Double Eagle, AU53
1861-S $20 AU53 NGC. The blended straw-gold and olive surfaces appear smooth save for a couple of moderate marks beneath the right (facing) wing. Luster emerges from all design crevices, and the strike is good, especially throughout the borders. The 1861-S is rare in Uncirculated grades, and most collectors own AU examples.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269K, PCGS# 8935, GSID# 9900)
