Description
Popular Near-Mint 1861-S Twenty Dollar
1861-S $20 AU58 NGC. The otherwise golden-rose color deepens to reddish-gold hues over much of the reverse. There is plenty of original luster remaining, this despite a smattering of light-to-moderate abrasions and light rub. Boldly detailed in most areas with a somewhat sharper appearance to the reverse. The 1861-S is a conditionally challenging issue that is scarce at the Mint State threshold and rare in strict Uncirculated preservation.(#8935) (Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269K, PCGS# 8935, GSID# 9900)
