Elusive Civil War Type One Issue

1862 $20 XF45 NGC. The 1862 is among the rarest Type One double eagles, a low-mintage issue of 92,133 pieces struck during the Civil War's most tumultuous years. This Choice XF specimen displays grade-consistent wear and some light abrasions that are also in accord. The medium orange-gold surfaces are well-struck and show no heavy abrasions.
