1862-S $20 AU55 PCGS. The 1862-S Liberty Head double eagle was seldom encountered in AU grades before the issue turned up in the S.S. Brother Jonathan and S.S. Republic finds. Even with the increase in supply occasioned by those recoveries, examples in AU55 are still scarce. The present coin shows only light wear and retains much original mint luster. Population: 33 in 55, 49 finer (6/10).(Registry values: N1793)
