Description
Lustrous AU58 1862-S Twenty
1862-S $20 AU58 NGC. The 1862-S has traditionally been considered one of the scarcer Type Two twenties. However, several higher grade examples were found in the salvage operations on the S.S. Republic, thus increasing the availability of this issue. This piece shows just the slightest break in the mint luster in the fields and over the cheek of Liberty. Sharply struck throughout. There are a number of small, but individually insignificant abrasions on each side.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269N, PCGS# 8938, GSID# 9902)
