Attractive, Low-Mintage AU53 1863 Double Eagle
1863 $20 AU53 NGC. A low-mintage issue for the Philadelphia Mint, the 1863 is today generally found in AU or thereabouts, and it is rare in Mint State. This AU53 specimen boasts pleasing luster emanating from the orange-gold surfaces, with a bold strike and fewer marks than might be expected for the grade.
