Exceptional 1863 Choice AU Twenty Dollar

1863 $20 AU55 NGC. This Civil War issue is most frequently seen in Extremely Fine to lower About Uncirculated grades. Higher level AUs are scarce and Mint State coins are very rare. Yellow-gold patination dominates both sides of this Choice AU example, accented with mint-green and rose, and each retains a good amount of luster. Relatively strong detail shows on the devices. Scattered contact marks are probably fewer and of less severity than usually encountered.(Registry values: N1793)
